1) Webinar: Write a letter to the editor for transit funding – 3pm Tues Nov 30.
In this 30-minute webinar with Gideon Forman of the David Suzuki Foundation we will learn how to write a letter to editor about transit funding. The webinar, hosted by our friends at the TTC Riders Union, will involve a short training, followed by time for you to write and send a letter during the event!
Public transit agencies across Canada need ongoing operations funding to keep transit moving. Without an extension of emergency funding, BC Transit could cut service or increase fares in 2022. Find out more about the need for federal operating funding at https://www.keeptransitmoving.ca/.

2) Help get more endorsers for the BC Climate Emergency Open Letter
More than 310 diverse arts, business, community, environment, faith, health, Indigenous, labour, senior, and youth organizations have signed an open letter calling on the BC government to confront the climate emergency by implementing ten urgent climate actions.
The Better Transit Alliance is one of over 310 groups and businesses that have signed the 10 point letter, which includes a call for “Invest in affordable, accessible, and convenient public transit within and between all communities. Reallocate infrastructure funds from highway expansion to transit and active transportation (cycling, rolling, and walking).”
Are you a member of a faith or arts group, a business owner, or do you know a local business owner who might want to sign on?
